It is rankings update time here at Prep Hoops Indiana. We began by releasing our expanded Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings on Monday highlighting the Top 25 plus over 200 names on the Watch List. As always, we don’t just spit out new rankings and then move. At Prep Hoops Indiana we dive deeper highlighting stock-risers, new names, positional breakdowns, and much more. Let’s dive on in and take a look at some of the rising sophom*ores who emerged as new names since our last rankings update towards the very end the high school season.

CLASS 2027
State: Indiana
School: Evansville Bosse
Evansville Bosse has been in a bit of a rebuilding process this June, but this 5’7″ point guard gives them a talented scoring punch in the backcourt. He was able to get his feet wet at the varsity level some last season, but will now look to blossom into a larger role with three double-figure scorers, including Taray Howell, have graduated. Chinn has a consistent top performer on the Prep Hoops Circuit this spring for Evansville Finest.

CLASS 2027
State: Indiana
School: Frankton
Club: Grand Park Premier
An excellent catch-and-shoot threat out of the backcourt, Cline has excellent footwork and a quick release out beyond the arc. He operates well off of screening action, understands how to read the defense to make the correct cuts, and then creates the necessary separation to get his shot off. Look for him to carve out a role this coming season in the backcourt at Frankton High School as a sophom*ore.

CLASS 2027
State: Indiana
School: Tipton
Anytime you come across a 6’8″ rising sophom*ore who can step outside and knock down a face-up shot you are going to be intrigued. McFalls burst onto the scene this spring with Grand Park Premier showcasing his ability to stretch the floor a little bit from the 5-spot while still utilizing his size around the basket on both ends of the floor. There will be some minutes up for grabs this season at Tipton after the graduation of several rotation players, so don’t be surprised to see McFalls take on a front court role this coming season.

CLASS 2027
State: Indiana
School: Gibson Southern
Club: Pocket City Basketball
A key contributor for Gibson Southern as a freshman, Schmitt is part of an exciting, talented returning core of players for the Titans. He averaged 6.2 points per game as a freshman while shooting 37.5% from three-point range. Now, the 6’3″ wing is ready to take on more responsibility as one of the better catch-and-shoot threats down in the greater Evansville area. He played very well at the Charlie Hughes Showcase.

CLASS 2027
State: Indiana
School: South Bend Washington
There are a lot of talented rising sophom*ores and juniors at South Bend Washington High School right now. Along with the #1 ranked 2026 prospect and a Top 20 2027 prospect, there are several other very good, young players. Wells, a 5’9″ point guard, is certainly one of those who has made an impression on us at Prep Hoops Indiana. He was able to gain valuable varsity experience as a freshman and should be prepared a solid sophom*ore campaign.

CLASS 2027
State: Indiana
School: Highland
Young had a strong freshman season at Highland High School averaging 8.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. He is very strong around the basket, rebounds his area well, and can finish consistently in the paint. A lot of young big men tend to float out towards the perimeter and shy away from contact, but that isn’t the case with this prospect. Definitely a name to remember out of northern Indiana in the Class of 2027.
