This might be one of my favorite articles I've ever written. Many thanks to all the healthcare leaders who participated! You don't have to have watched Ted Lasso to learn from his leadership lessons. I'm working on a new piece on #medicalgaslighting and TikTok - if you would like to get in on the discussion, please email me at bari@beckershealthcare.com. In the meantime, please click, read and share this article...then, be a goldfish. #leadership #healthcareleaders #tedlasso #leadershiplessons

This is a cool article from #beckershealthcare. If you watched, and are a fan of, Ted Lasso you will get this. If you didn't you will may still agree with most of this, and may want to start watching the show (it really was one of the best shows ever on, in my opinion). I believe the leadership of #Waystar convey many of these leadership traits every day. I also believe that you don't need to be in a position of leadership, or have a title of #leadership, in order to be a leader. We lead processes all the time, we lead our kids through life, we are all leaders in our own rights and these lessons are good ones to remember. #leaders #healthcare

But a closer look and listen to the show, which also follows the ups and downs of the team's back office and characters' personal lives, reveals that game-changing leadership lessons can come from those you would least expect. #leadership #team #tedlasso

Leadership lessons were inevitable following the conclusion of Ted Lasso last week. Beyond the natural application of sports metaphors, teamwork, and perseverance, the show allows us to reflect on the messiness and imperfection that is life and leadership. Bari Faye Dean (Siegel) does a great job demonstrating how applicable Lasso lessons are to healthcare through her conversations with multiple hospital leaders. Two of my favorites:►Frank Beaman's reflection on how empathy doesn't make you weak. "If you are vulnerable, you're willing to take responsibility."►Robert C. Garrett's thoughts on how optimists take more chances. "With a positive outlook and vision, you can see the big picture and remain focused regardless of challenges or roadblocks that can seem insurmountable at times."Well worth a read whether you are a lover of the show (and the 3rd season) or not.#healthcare #tedlasso #leadership ------------👋 Hey, I'm Ashley. "There is the whole business side of healthcare, which cannot be ignored. I think that clinicians schools could probably potentially do a better job of preparing clinicians for the business side of healthcare. Because …..if the bills aren’t paid and if there’s not access to plan for growing for the future, we’ve got a problem. I think that it has to be really ingrained into the clinician earlier on. That would be one of my big asks for the new educational shift is that clinicians just be much more attuned to the business side of healthcare: Definitely don’t lose the caring side, but be aware of the business side.’’-Ronnie H.
